Ark Zead is a mysterious artist about whom even Glacial Movements knows very little. This debut album appears to be deeply inspired by the extremes of cold, transforming those sensations into an immersive Soundscape that aligns perfectly with the label’s vision. The tracks consist of long, undulating sound waves that invite listeners on a journey of enigmatic exploration, characterized by subtle, minimal variations. While many of the songs share a similar sonic feel, the second track, “Sikinik,” emerges as a standout with its richer textures. Combining field recordings with Tibetan-inspired sounds, this piece evokes a powerful visual imagery, setting itself apart from the rest of the album. Overall, it’s an intriguing work that would benefit from increased variation to fully captivate the audience. (Rating:7).
