Peter Murphy (Bauhaus) to launch live album ‘Bare-Boned and Sacred’ in March – pre-orders available here

“Bare-Boned and Sacred” is a brand new live album by Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy. The recordings offer stripped down versions of 12 tracks including a cover of Bowie’s “Belway Brothers”. The album can be ordered already via this mail order. Here’s the version as it will be released:

Rome – The Hyperion Machine

The literary and philosophical subjects are just as diverse as the musical influences. The album features songs in the vein of Rome’s trademark blends of Dark Folk ‘The Secret Germany’, ‘Celine in Jerusalem’ and Post Industrial Wave ‘Transference’, ‘Skirmishes for Diotima’.
Moreover, fans will be delighted to find that the album also features a duet ‘Stillwell’ with legendary Swedish singer and friend Thåström.
In many ways, ‘The Hyperion Machine’ is a completely normal music album, and yet it is so much more than that. It forms a great, sensual commentary on the origins of the present, over and above the here and now.

Side-Line introduces Distoxia – listen now to ‘Encrucijada En El Cielo’ (Face The Beat profile series)

The 20th track on our free download compilation “Face The Beat: Session 4” (featuring 92 tracks) is by the Chile based trance dark EBM act Distoxia. “Encrucijada En El Cielo” is a perfect example of how this project mixes trance synthlayers with hard-hitting beats, and it caught our attention directly. The track we offer you here was composed, recorded and mixed by M.Postmortem A.K.A Distoxia in Chile in 2015. We hope to hear a lot more from this band in the very near future! Check the band’s Facebook page right here. Listen to “Encrucijada En El Cielo” below and download it right here. ‘Das Lied der Deutschen’ – a 200 old year song banned by political correctness – finally re-released in its entirety by Sacha Korn – an interview

Released now for the very first time on digital platforms is “Das Lied der Deutschen” in a version by Sacha Korn. The song – having all of the strophes – reached the download and streaming platforms last weekend and is an excellent contemporary cover. We talked with Sacha Korn on why he re-released the single, his version originally was self-released in 2012 selling over 15.000 copies (!). The song itself has been the national anthem of Germany since 1922, except in East Germany, whose anthem was “Auferstanden aus Ruinen” from 1949 to 1990. But since World War II and the fall of Nazi Germany, only the third stanza has been used as the national anthem because the other strophes ‘could be misinterpreted’. The music was originally written by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn in 1797, using a tune from a Croat peasant song and on a text beginning with “Gott erhalte Franz, den Kaiser”. In 1841, the German linguist and poet August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben wrote the lyrics of “Das Lied der Deutschen” as a new text for that music, counterposing the national unification of Germany to the eulogy of a monarch, lyrics that were considered revolutionary at the time. Side-Line introduces Distorted World – listen now to ‘Cerulean Sea’ (Face The Beat profile series)

The 19th track on our free download compilation “Face The Beat: Session 4” (featuring 92 tracks) is by the Russian dark wave act Distorted World featuring harsh male and clean female vocals. When their submission landed in our mailbox, we didn’t hesitate a second to accept them. The duo offers splendid dark wave / electropop which reminds of the best material from Technoir or yet Suicidal Romance. Based in Moscow, Russia, the project was formed in 2010. The band’s first album “Between The Strophes” was released in 2012 and was followed by the single “Personal Necropolis” (2013). The band’s last studio output was the 2014 album “Shadow Empire”. Right now they are working on their third LP “Storm And Silence”. You can find the band on VK and on Facebook. More than recommended! Listen to “Cerulean Sea” below and download it right here.
