Οι Blue Birds παρουσιάζουν τον τρίτο κατά σειρά δίσκο τους και με την πρώτη ακρόασή του, σκέφτεται κανείς πως παρόλο που τα συγκεκριμένα «πτηνά» αρνούνται πεισματικά να πετάξουν, έχουν ετοιμάσει ένα δίσκο προορισμένο για πολύ υψηλές πτήσεις.Δώδεκα καλογραμμένα κομμάτια, μας ταξιδεύουν στο διάστημα, άλλοτε με χορευτικές κι άλλοτε με τρυφερές μελωδίες, επενδυμένες με τη γλυκιά φωνή της Εύας να εξελίσσεται σε μια από τις καλύτερες ελληνικές γυναικείες φωνές του χώρου.
Ένα παιχνίδι με τα χρώματα και το φως μέσω των μελωδικών συνθέσεων του Κυριάκου, που γίνεται στιγμές-στιγμές τρυφερό και αιθέριο κι άλλες, δυνατό και έντονο. Ένας δίσκος που μέσα στην μινιμαλιστική απλότητά του κρύβει ένα σωρό μυστικά.
Ο δίσκος ξεκινάει με το γοητευτικά απλό "Crashed" για να συνεχίσει με το "Morning Star", όπου και αρχίζουμε να ψυχανεμιζόμαστε περίπου τι συμβαίνει…
Dark Electro και pop πινελιές μας υπενθυμίζουν διακριτικά το όμορφο παρελθόν και τους Wasteland, ενώ στο -τολμώ να πω- αριστουργηματικό "Want you there for me", οι Blue Birds θα αγγίξουν απαλά την ψυχή μας με τις μπλε φτερούγες τους, προκαλώντας μας έντονες συγκινήσεις και συναισθήματα.

Η πτήση συνεχίζεται αλλά όχι σε ευθεία γραμμή, με τα απόλυτα χορευτικά Burning και Das Marchen που μας ανεβάζουν ψηλά για να «ρίξουμε ύψος» στο υπέροχο "h.e.a.t." και το γλυκά ερωτικό "Oxygen", του οποίου τους υπέροχους στίχους έχει γράψει ο Γιώργος Π.

Ο δίσκος κλείνει με το "Elegy" στο οποίο τα συνδυασμένα φωνητικά του Γιώργου και της Εύας μας δίνουν την αίσθηση πως βρισκόμαστε σπίτι, ότι τελικά, φτάσαμε στον προορισμό μας, ύστερα από μια όμορφη περιπλάνηση.
Για την ακρόαση συνίσταται να δυναμώσετε τους ενισχυτές και να δέσετε τις ζώνες ασφαλείας γιατί το "Xenomorph Angel" είναι μια γιορτή. Μια γιορτή για τα πρόσωπα που έχουν φύγει και δεν είναι πια μαζί μας και για τα πρόσωπα που έρχονται. Μια γιορτή για το ίδιο το ταξίδι, ανεξαρτήτως προορισμού…

"Blue Birds Refuse To Fly" present their third album, "Xenomorph Angel" (i.e. an alien angel). Straight after the first listening, makes one ponder that even if these "birds" stubbornly refuse to fly, this album is intended for high flights.
12 well written tracks intended for an outer space travel, sometimes with dancing and sometimes with tender melodies, draped with the sweet voice of Eva - one of the best and most promising female voices in the Greek scene.
It is a game in colours and light through the melodic compositions of Kyriakos, that in some parts are tender and ethereal, where in some other parts are powerful and very intense. "Xenomorph Angel" is an album that hides lots of secrets despite its minimalist simplicity.
The introduction is an enchantingly simple track called "Crashed" and then comes "Morning Star" – the point where we begin to understand what this album is about...
Dark Electro and Pop sounds, discreetly reminiscent of the beautiful past of "Wasteland", while in - I dare say - brilliant "Want you there for me", Blue Birds touch softly upon our soul with their blue wings, evoking intense emotions:

This flight continues, but in no steady height, with the absolutely danceable "Burning" and "Das Marchen" – the album highlight- both taking us to the highest point, only to lose height with the splendid "h.e.a.t." and the erotic "Oxygen" – with some marvellous lyrics written by George P.

The album ends with the joint vocals of George and Eva in "Elegy" giving us the sense that we are at last home, finally reaching our destination after a beautiful wandering.
We recommend to fasten your seat belt and listen to this album in high volume since "Xenomorph Angel" is a feast. A feast for all the people gone, for all the people not with us any more, for all the people that will come... A feast for the travel itself, regardless of the destination...
