Just in time for the dark season, Chris Pohl and his singing graces return with a single that plays out all the strengths of this dark romantic Electro project. The title track “My Saviour” is a showcase example of the delicate way that Blutengel always manage to mingle catchy melodies and dance beats with a gloomy atmosphere and touching emotionality. Lyrics of dark romance add to an intense experience that is a rare trait in electronic Pop Music. The next track, “Verdammnis”, sports German lyrics and alternating deep male and heavenly female vocals … a cunning combination of charts potential and gothic appeal that is destined to give you goose bumps. The second b-side displays Blutengel’s dark and pompous side. “In Winter”, is an orchestral waltz that could easily be imagined as part of the soundtrack to a vampire movie in all of its sinister glory. This is topped off by two remixes of the title track from ADAM and Cephalgy, both emphasizing the club qualities of the music: a vampiric dance fest with heavy beats. “My Saviour” is another fine example as to why Blutengel are the biggest thing in Dark Electro … and why their fame has already spread far beyond the boundaries of the scene.
