Side-Line introduces Electrogenic – listen now to ‘Game Over’ (Face The Beat profile series)

The 24th track on our free download compilation “Face The Beat: Session 4” (featuring 92 tracks) is by the Italian female fronted electropop act Electrogenic. Electrogenic was formed in the beginning of 2014 in Milan,Italy. The duo is composed of Stefan (Stefano Lugo) and LaCrisi (Cristina Corti). Working together on every aspect of the production of the songs, from writing to arrangements to melodies and singing, they create a sound that lands across the borders of electropop and synthpop. The ingredients: evocative lyrics, catchy melodies, sparkling synths and a dancefloor-attitude drumming. The result has a DNA with firm roots based in new wave, eighties pop and electronica. Since forming they released the album “Double Exposure” and four videos. The track “Game Over” is taken from their debut album. You can check them out on Bandcamp, Facebook and YouTube. ‘Click Interview’ with Phonothek: ‘Listen To Phonothek Before Sleep Or Just To Make Yourself Feeling Sad’

I recently discovered the debut album “Lost In Fog” from the Georgian male-female duo Phonothek. The dark-ambient style of the band is totally appropriated to the Cryo Chamber roster although it clearly sounds different. There’s an original approach in sound mixing electronic- and acoustic instruments. (by Inferno Sound Diaries) Q: Phonothek is a rather new name at the wider fields of dark-ambient music. How did you get in touch with this kind of music and how would you define your own sound? Phonothek: I like it so much to mix genres and emotions together during composing process. Sometimes I even step in chaos and I don’t really care about what causes it. For me personally music is more important than the effectiveness of effects. Phonothek is not a typical dark-ambient project as there is more freedom so the listener can choose the mood himself. In my music the major mood is already stated by trumpet or strings while a typical dark-ambient space holds the sadness in it. I think it would be good to listen to Phonothek before sleep or just to make yourself feeling sad. Q: What have been the main sources of inspiration to compose “Lost In Fog” […]

Star Wars’ Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) has died, aged only 60

“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8.55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.” One of the worst nightmares of the Star Wars fans materialised when the death of actress Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) was announced today, at 8.55 this morning. Fisher died just 4 days after suffering a massive heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles after having visited the Flemish town of Bruges. She received emergency treatment on the plane before she was rushed to hospital where she remained in a critical condition. Fisher didn’t have an easy life after her Star Wars fame, her diagnosis of bipolar disorder and her addictions to cocaine and prescription medication turned her life into a living hell. But by the late eighties she had overcome her problems and was steadily working on getting back into shape. She went on to perform in several movies including “When Harry Met Sally…” and of course “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. She will also posthumously appear in “Star Wars: Episode VIII”. Rest […]
